Berghaus gives leading athletes the power to perform in the Dragon’s Back Race™

Berghaus has announced that it will be sponsoring two high profile competitors in this year’s Dragon’s Back Race™. The company is supporting Helene Whitaker, who won the original race in 1992, and Stephen Birkinshaw, seven times winner of the KIMM/OMM. Helene and Stephen have been working with Berghaus during recent months, helping to test and refine a new range of products that they will use during the race, which will be held from 3 to 7 September.

Helene returns to the Dragon’s Den

Twenty years after winning the original Dragon’s Back Race™ Helene Whitaker (nee Diamantides) has confirmed that she will be racing again this September. Certainly, it is impressive that she remains sufficiently fit and motivated enough to take on a challenge as demanding as the Dragon’s Back Race™ but remarkably she will be joined by three other 1992 veterans.

Berghaus confirmed as the Dragon’s Back Race sponsors

The Dragon’s Back Race™ enjoys near mythical status in the adventure racing community, both because it has only been held once before (in 1992) and because it proved to be such a tough challenge.
